Sample practice map

A contract translation practice, Spanish to English, one translator working alone.

Illustrative: shows the format and reasoning; it is not a client's map.

1. The practice today

Business contracts and certificates, mostly for companies, delivered in three to five days. About half of each job is terminology, formatting and self-review. Capacity is the limit: the translator turns work away in busy months.

2. The services as a workflow

3. The client app

Clients sign in at the practice's own domain, under its name. Each client has a private workspace holding their documents, the glossary and every delivered file. The translator works in the same workspace.

4. What stays with the translator

The judgment calls: legal terms of art, clauses that read differently across jurisdictions, and the certificate. Agents prepare; the translator decides and signs.

5. Recommendation

Start with the general agent on two real jobs this month and measure the hours saved on terminology and formatting. If the saving holds, move clients to the branded app. What could change this: documents that arrive as poor scans, which need OCR and more checking before agents can help.

Start with a practice map

Before you commit to anything, get a written plan for running your practice on mydocly, and decide from there.

  • Your services, restated as workflows from first contact to delivery
  • Which steps agents can do today, and which are coming
  • What your client app would look like on your domain
  • What you would still do yourself, and why
  • A recommended first step, and what could change it
